Thandiwe Newton and Steve Zahn Join Jack Black and Paul Rudd in ANACONDA

Thandiwe Newton (Westworld) and Steve Zahn (Silo, The Thing You Do) have joined Paul Rudd and Jack Black in the comedy reimagining of the creature feature film, Anaconda.

The rest of the cast includes Selton Mello, Ione Skye (Zodiac), Daniela Melchior (The Suicide Squad, Road House).

The new story involves “a group of friends facing mid-life crises who are remaking their favorite movie from their youth. They head to the rainforest only to find themselves in a fight for their lives against natural disasters, giant snakes and violent criminals.”

One of the actors would play an “erstwhile director, a man stuck in his job as a wedding videographer”, while the other would play an actor who did a stint on a cop show but sees his Hollywood dreams slipping further and further away.”

Rudd and Black previously shared a video where they announced that the film will be released on December 25th, 2025.

The film is being produced by Columbia Pictures and directed by Tom Gormican from a script he co-wrote Kevin Etten. Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are producing the film.
