The Anthology Comedy Series MIRACLE WORKERS Has Been Canceled by TBS
The entertaining anthology comedy series Miracle Workers has been canceled by TBS after four seasons. This has been a super fun show to watch and I’m actually bummed out that we aren’t going to get a new crazy story, but the show was going to have to eventually come to an end.
It was reported earlier this year that Season 4 very well could be the last season. TBS no longer had options on the cast, which was led by Daniel Radcliffe and Steve Buscemi. So, if another season was going to happen, they’d have to make new deals with the actors and TBS obviously wasn’t looking to do that.
It’s explained that the creative team did have an idea for a potential fifth season that Radcliffe was excited about, but now we won’t get to see what that would’ve been.
Season 4 of the series was set in a post-apocalyptic future full of radioactive mutants, killer robots and a tyrannical homeowner’s association with outrageous annual fees. In the story, “a wasteland warrior (Radcliffe) and a ruthless warlord (Geraldine Viswanathan) faced the most dystopian nightmare of all: settling down in the suburbs. Together they navigated the existential horrors of married life and small-town living, all under the dubious guidance of a wealthy junk trader (Buscemi). Bass also starred as the couple’s faithful war dog, and Soni as a kill-bot who loved to party.”
Miracle Workers was created by Simon Rich and produced by Lorne Michaels. Dan Mirk and Robert Padnick served as showrunners.
