THE BATMAN: PART II Report Claims Sebastian Stan Is Playing Victor Zsasz, With Brian Tyree Henry as Harvey Dent

Matt ReevesThe Batman: Part II has remained one of the most mysterious comic book movies in development, and if a new report is accurate, a lot of the rumors that have been floating around for the last year may have missed the mark entirely.

According to insider Jeff Sneider on The InSneider, the sequel’s cast lineup and villain roster are shaping up very differently than many fans expected. The biggest surprise involves Sebastian Stan, who has long been rumored to be playing Harvey Dent, the Gotham City district attorney who eventually becomes Two-Face.

That apparently isn’t the case. Sneider claims Stan will instead take on the role of Victor Zsasz, one of Batman’s most disturbing foes.

In DC Comics lore, Zsasz is a serial killer who arranges his victims’ bodies into lifelike displays and carves a tally mark into his own skin for every person he murders. It’s the kind of unsettling villain that feels right at home in Reeves’ dark and grounded Gotham.

As for Harvey Dent, the report states that Brian Tyree Henry will be stepping into the role. Fans will already know Henry from Atlanta and Eternals, and it sounds like Gotham’s ambitious district attorney will still have an important place in the story.

The report also claims that the mysterious Court of Owls will play a role in the movie. The secretive organization has been one of the most requested villains since The Batman was released, and if they are involved, Reeves may be pulling Gotham’s corruption and conspiracies to an entirely new level.

Sneider shared some interesting details about the script, explaining: "One of my sources told me that The Batman Part Il script features 'some weird and interesting takes.'"

Another source reportedly told him that Reeves’ decision to use Zsasz as a villain “fits in with everyone telling me the movie is f***ing crazy."

That certainly paints a picture of a sequel that could be much stranger and more unpredictable than fans have been expecting.

The report also touches on Scarlett Johansson and Charles Dance, both of whom have been linked to the project through previous rumors. According to Sneider, they "aren't playing big names in the Batman universe, but more like a 'meld' of different characters."

Earlier reports suggested Johansson and Dance would portray Harvey Dent’s wife and father, but that information now appears questionable.

If the Court of Owls are truly part of the story, it’s easy to imagine Dance being connected to Gotham’s elite secret society in some fashion, though that remains pure speculation for now.

As always with reports like this, it’s worth remembering that none of these details have been officially confirmed by Warner Bros. or Reeves. Still, Sneider has built a strong reputation for industry scoops, and he seems confident in what he’s hearing.

What makes this latest update especially interesting is how dramatically it reshapes expectations for the movie. For months, fans have been focused on the possibility of Two-Face taking center stage.

If Stan is actually playing Zsasz and Dent is being handled by Henry, then Reeves may be setting up something much larger than a straightforward villain origin story.

Directed by Matt Reeves from a screenplay he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, The Batman: Part II stars Robert Pattinson, Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright, Charles Dance, Jayme Lawson, Gil Perez-Abraham, and Sebastian Koch.

The Batman: Part II is currently scheduled to hit theaters on October 1, 2027.
