THE BOYS Season 5 Posters Tease Scorched Earth Chaos and The Final Showdown
Prime Video just dropped two striking new posters for the The Boys final season, and they make one thing very clear.
Everything is circling the drain, and the last chapter is gearing up for the ultimate showdown between Karl Urban’s Butcher and Antony Starr’s Homelander. It looks like it’s going to get messy on a global scale.
One poster sees Homelander floating high above Earth like he owns the place, while destruction spreads across the landscape below. With America already under his boot, it looks like he has his eyes on everything beyond the borders too.
The companion poster puts the spotlight on Butcher in the middle of the ruins. A fallen skyscraper looms behind him and it feels like a warning of what might collapse next as his one man crusade against Homelander and Vought barrels toward its end.
The Boys is heading to São Paulo for CCXP this weekend and odds are good that a Season 5 teaser will drop before the event wraps on Sunday.
Showrunner Erik Kripke recently opened up about how he and the team are approaching the finish line. He explained:
"I would say we’re trying to land the plane on, really, the primary concerns of 'The Boys,' which are Butcher vs. Homelander; the love story of Hughie and Annie; the fraught big brother/little brother relationship of Butcher and Hughie — all the things that 'The Boys' are about, we’re trying to bring to a conclusion in a surprising and emotional way."
Kripke also touched on the franchise’s future and confirmed that The Boys: Mexico is still moving forward. He said, "Gareth [Dunnet Alcocer], who’s an amazing writer, is writing drafts right now. It’s in development.
“I think it’s hilarious. But we’ll see, it’s going through the bumpy rapids of development. It would take place at some point after Season 5 of 'The Boys.'"
When asked about characters continuing on in spinoffs like a potential Gen V Season 3 or the Mexico series, he teased, "Yes, that would be the hope, that there’s certain characters that we could cross over into 'The Boys' Mexico [spinoff]. But we’ll see."
Based on the best selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys was developed for Prime Video by Kripke, who executive produces alongside Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.
Season 5 also stars Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, Cameron Crovetti, Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jensen Ackles, and Daveed Diggs.
The final season of The Boys hits Prime Video in 2026 and these posters suggest fans should buckle up. It looks like the story is racing toward a scorched earth finale that’s been years in the making.
