The CREED III Anime Short Is Getting a U.S. Release Thanks to Alamo Drafthouse

A few months ago it was announced that there would be a Creed III anime short developed and screened in Japan with showings of Creed III. As you know, director Michael B. Jordan was heavily influenced by the anime shows that he watched, especially in the boxing fight sequences.

That anime short, which is titled, Creed: Shinjidai, will now make its U.S. debut with a limited event that is being hosted by the Alamo Drafthouse in Los Angeles as part of a special screening for Bottoms. As a fan of anime, I’d love the opportunity to check it out.

The Megalobox anime franchise at TMS Entertainment teamed up with MGM Studios for the anime. Jordan is also developing a full-on Creed anime series for Amazon Prime as well. This short is kind of an experiment for what that could look like. Jordon is looking to build a whole Creed universe, which will include multiple films and shows. The anime series he’s developing is just a small part of that.
