The Director of VENOM Isn't Ruling Out a Spider-Man Appearance in the Franchise

When it comes to if Spider-Man is appearing in the new Venom film, we've heard that he won't be in the movie and we've heard rumors that he will. We just don't know for sure! Now the director of VenomRuben Fleischer, is weighing in on the question. When asked by Empire about Spidey potentially making an appearance in the movie, Fleischer said:

"This feels very much like Venom’s movie. It’s the introduction of the character. As to where it will go in future movies, and who he’ll run across, I can’t say."

While Fleischer doesn't give a definitive answer, he's not ruling out the possibility. Yeah, it would be kinda cool to see Spider-Man show up in the film, but he's not a main part of the story, there's no reason to include him. It would pretty much just be for fan service.

If Spider-Man did appear in Venom, it would also make things a little weird and confusing because these are two completely separate universes. It's already been made very clear that Venom will not appear in any Spider-Man or any other MCU movie.

The more I think about it, the more I hope that Spider-Man doesn't show up in Venom. Just let Spider-Man do his thing in the MCU. appearing in a film like Venom would just seem like a step backwards for the character. Would you like to see Spider-Man show up even if it's just some kind of brief cameo?

The movie also stars Tom HollandMichelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Jenny Slate and Woody Harrelson. It's set to hit theaters on October 5th.
