The Fantastic 2016 Zombie Film TRAIN TO BUSAN is Getting a Sequel in 2020

If you haven’t watched the 2016 South Korean zombie action thriller Train to Busan yet, you need to remedy that and watch it! It’s a great movie! If you have seen it, you’ll be happy to hear that director Yeon Sang-ho has been working on a sequel called Peninsula, and according to Bloody-Disgusting, it’s set to be released in the summer of 2020.

The distribution company released a statement saying, “We are preparing for the market release by summer 2020, but the schedule for international release has not been decided yet.”

The first movie tells the story of a man and his estranged daughter and other passengers who become trapped on a speeding train during a zombie outbreak in South Korea. Here’s a brief synopsis that shares what we can expect from the sequel:

“The film will revisit the same zombie virus that was seen in the original movie, except this time the focus will be expanded to the entire Korean peninsula.”

Train to Busan also spawned a prequel with an animated film developed titled Seoul Station back in 2016, and also an American remake in the works with James Wan producing.

Are you excited to learn that we are getting a sequel to this horror movie?
