The Cast From STRANGER THINGS Reveal When They Think The Series Should End

Three of our favorite lead actors – Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, and Noah Schnapp– from the hit Netflix series Stranger Things were on the red carpet recently for the 2019 MTV Movie and TV awards, where ET was able to stop and chat with them about the future of the series. When asked if this will be the best season yet, they emphatically said, “Yes!” They said they are fans themselves and noted that this season is playful like season one, with the darkness of season two.

The guys were asked if they were happy with the final season, unlike the cast of Game of Thrones (which is a weird question because I don’t think anyone was thinking this season of Stranger Things would be the last), and Wolfhard says, “This may not be our last season, we don’t know,” which is a diplomatic way of saying the fourth season hasn’t been made official yet, but there’s still more story to tell. And when asked when they thought the series should end, after Matarazzo joked they should go to season 14, he replied:

“I think we should stop whenever the story feels like it needs to be completed. I don’t think any season should be pushed. If there’s no more story, there’s no more story.”

Wolfhard and Schnapp both agreed, and emphasized that one or two more seasons are definitely in order to tie it all up. And when asked if the guys could share the most exciting moment from the upcoming season they’re looking forward to most, Schnapp said the ending, Wolfhard said the final two episodes are the most exciting, and Matarazzo said he’s most looking forward to their Lego Set coming out. I support that answer!

Even though we are merely weeks away from the third season, and it sounds like we will get another one or two, I’m sad at the thought of this series ending. It’s such a special series. But I’ll try to live in the moment and count down the days until the Fourth of July when we get to go back to Hawkins, Indiana and continue our journey!

Check out the whole interview below, and let us know, are you guys so excited for the third season and the next one(s) to follow?
