The HALO TV Series Is Set in the "Halo Silver Timeline" Which Is Separate From the Games
A lot of fans of the Halo franchise seem to be pretty excited for the upcoming live-action series coming to Paramount+. I like what I’ve seen so far in the footage that has been released and I’m excited to see more!
We have a bit of new information regarding the series to share with you as it’s been revealed the show is set in a different timeline than the game. The time line for the series is being referred to as the “Halo Silver Timeline” and when explaining when this means, Kiki Wolfkill, who oversees the Halo property, said:
"We're referring to this as the Halo Silver Timeline as a way of differentiating it from core canon. And both protecting core canon and protecting the television story, and by that I mean being able to give ourselves the chance to evolve both and for both to be what they need to be for their mediums without colliding with each other."
That’s fine, whatever the want to do! As long as they tell a good story and the production quality is there, I’m good! The series certainly looks cool! The series is being made for not only fans of the game, but also for people that have never played it. If you don’t know anything about Master Chief, this series is going to cover that.
The story follows the “epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant, Halo the series will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future.”
Master Chief is described as Earth’s most advanced warrior and “the only hope of salvation for a civilization pushed to the brink of destruction by the Covenant, an unstoppable alliance of alien worlds committed to the destruction of humanity.”
When previously talking about the story, Master Chief star Pablo Schreiber said, "It takes place very much in the universe that the video games created, but it's a it's a TV show. We get to expand that universe and create stories in it. There's going to be some new characters that are introduced, there's going to be a lot of familiar characters that everyone will know from the game."
The 10-episode Steven Spielberg-produced series is set to premiere on Paramount+ in 2022.
