The JOKER AND HARLEY QUINN Movie Will Be Directed By THIS IS US Directors Glenn Ficarra and John Requa
Remember that Joker and Harley Quinn movie we told you about not long ago? Well, the untitled film project is moving forward with two directors. Warner Bros. has hired Glenn Ficarra and John Requa to direct the film, which will see Jared Leto and Margot Robbie reprise their roles as The Joker and Harley Quinn.
Ficarra and Requa direct and executive produce the hit NBC drama series This is Us. They have also wrote and directed the 2011 film Crazy, Stupid, Love. They've also previous;y worked with Robbie on the films Focus and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. I've enjoyed most of their work, but this is very different from anything they've done before. Regardless, I'm still sure they will be able to pull it off.
There are no details on the film's plot, but it is being described as a “criminal love story, featuring the two murdering maniacs who are cornerstones in the Batman mythos." I just hope that whatever story they decide to tell with these two characters is a good one.
According to THR, the studio is looking to move fast on this film before the actor's holding agreements are up. Hopefully, they don't rush it to the point where it turns out to be a rushed shitty film.
There's been a lot of interesting DC movie news recently with the standalone Joker Origin film being developed by Martin Scorsese and Todd Phillips. Then it was just revealed that Matt Reeves' The Batman won't be connected to the DCEU, which I didn't expect.
There's a lot of things going on at Warner Bros. with their DC properties. Hopefully, they all turn out to be good films that the fans will enjoy.
