THE LINCOLN LAWYER is Ending With Season 5 on Netflix

Netflix’s hit legal drama The Lincoln Lawyer is officially heading toward its final case. The series, led by Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as defense attorney Mickey Haller, will wrap up with its upcoming fifth season, which is currently filming in Los Angeles.

The show has been one of Netflix’s more reliable crowd-pleasers over the last few years, mixing courtroom drama, sharp character work, and the kind of messy personal stakes that keep fans binging episodes late into the night. Now the creative team is preparing to close out Mickey Haller’s story on their own terms.

Series creator and co-showrunner Ted Humphrey and co-showrunner Dailyn Rodriguez released a statement about bringing the series to its conclusion, saying:

“All good things must come to an end, but thankfully sometimes how they come to an end is up to us. From the very beginning, the mission was always not only to tell the story of Mickey Haller and his compatriots, but also to give that story a proper conclusion.

“And while it is of course bittersweet, it’s also an amazing opportunity to bring this adventure to a close and perhaps chart a new course for some of our characters into the future. We are immensely grateful to Netflix and A+E Studios for the opportunity to land this plane the right way.

“But most of all, we are grateful to the fans all around the world for watching and supporting the show. We promise you, we are right now building a final season that will provide the satisfying finale Mickey Haller deserves. We can’t wait to share it with you!”

Season 5 will consist of 10 episodes and pulls its story from Michael Connelly’s seventh Lincoln Lawyer novel, Resurrection Walk. This final chapter throws Mickey into one of the most personal and dangerous cases of his career.

The story kicks off when Mickey discovers he has a half-sister he never knew existed. Emi, played by Cobie Smulders, comes to him asking for help freeing a woman who may have been wrongfully convicted of murder.

That investigation drags Mickey into a brutal legal battle involving corruption, buried family history, and some dangerous enemies who don’t want old secrets uncovered.

While Mickey takes on the case, his inner circle will also have plenty on their plates. Lorna, Izzy, and Cisco all step into bigger roles as the pressure rises around the firm. After surviving the events of Season 4, Mickey is now chasing justice from the other side of the courtroom, determined to fix a system that nearly destroyed him.

The final season is also bringing in a pretty great lineup of recurring guest stars. Nate Corddry, Tricia Helfer, Amy Aquino, Angela Trimbur, Elpidia Carrillo, and Keir O'Donnell are joining the cast for the final run.

They’ll appear alongside returning cast members Garcia-Rulfo, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, Angus Sampson, and Smulders. Previously announced guest stars include Chris Diamantopoulos, and returning recurring players include Neve Campbell, Krista Warner, Angelica Maria, and Gigi Zumbado.

Even though the show is ending, The Lincoln Lawyer leaves behind a pretty impressive legacy for Netflix. According to the streamer, the series has generated more than $425 million for California’s economy, employed over 4,300 cast and crew members, and filmed across more than 50 Los Angeles locations including Dodger Stadium and Grand Central Market.

The audience numbers have also stayed strong throughout its run. The series has spent 29 weeks on Netflix’s Global Top 10 charts and racked up 171 million views since 2023. Season 4 even opened stronger than Season 3, pulling in 9 million views during its debut weekend.

I like the show, and it’s always a little rough saying goodbye to a series that still feels like it has gas left in the tank, but at least The Lincoln Lawyer gets the chance to finish its story properly instead of disappearing on a cliffhanger. Hopefully the creative team sticks the landing and gives Mickey Haller the ending fans have been hoping for.
