THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU Super Bowl Spot Shows Our Heroes on a Snowy Trek

Disney has released a Super Bowl spot for Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian and Grogu, and once again, Lucasfilm is playing this close to the vest. With the movie still months away, this latest look doesn’t spell out the plot. It just sets the tone.

What we get is a fun 30-second sequence of Din Djarin and Grogu being pulled through a frozen landscape on a wagon by a pack of Tauntauns!

The spot trades exposition for inspiration, helped immensely by a gravelly voiceover narration delivered by Sam Elliott, and his words set the tone for the entire teaser.

“Sometimes we choose our path, other times the path chooses us.” As the snow flies and Din presses forward, Elliott continues: “Through it all, we keep pushing forward, driven by a deeper purpose, guided by an unseen force. The journey never gets any easier, the bond just gets harder to break. This is the way.”

This story picks up after the third season of The Mandalorian, with Din Djarin, played by Pedro Pascal, and Grogu settling into life on Navarro following the liberation of Mandalore. Din’s now working as a freelance agent for the New Republic, but as this spot suggests, peace doesn’t last long in this galaxy.

As for who’s joining the ride, Sigourney Weaver plays New Republic officer Colonel Ward, while Jeremy Allen White steps into the role of Rotta the Hutt.

The Mandalorian and Grogu arrives in theaters on May 22. Enjoy the teaser!
