THE MANDALORIAN & GROGU Trailer Tease Delivers New Footage and Sets Up Tomorrow’s Big Reveal
Star Wars fans tuned into the Super Bowl hoping for their first real look at The Mandalorian & Grogu. What they got instead was a parody of classic Budweiser ads. It was just an amusing commercial gag, and the reaction was mixed.
Confusion quickly turned into frustration, and plenty of fans started wondering what was going on with Lucasfilm’s big-screen return to the galaxy far, far away.
Well, Lucasfilm and Disney have dropped a fifteen-second teaser that includes new footage from the upcoming film, and more importantly, they confirmed that the full trailer for Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu is arriving tomorrow, Tuesday, February 17.
The new teaser may be short, but it gives fans exactly what they’ve been waiting for. Din Djarin and Grogu are front and center, including a fun little moment of Grogu randomly pressing buttons aboard their new ship. The footage also flashes a squadron of Rebel fighters streaking across sunset lit sky.
There’s even a glimpse of an R2 unit. Taken together, we see that Din will be working alongside the New Republic as the galaxy attempts to stabilize after the Empire’s fall.
Din Djarin, played by Pedro Pascal, and Grogu settled on Navarro following the liberation of Mandalore. Din took on work as a freelance operative for the New Republic. If this teaser is any indication, that job is about to get complicated.
The cast also includes Sigourney Weaver as New Republic officer Colonel Ward, and Jeremy Allen White is stepping into the role of Rotta the Hutt.
The shift from streaming to theaters is a huge moment for the franchise. The Mandalorian & Grogu isn’t just another chapter of the Disney+ series. It’s Lucasfilm’s first Star Wars theatrical release since 2019, and expectations are high.
Hopefully, tomorrow’s full trailer could really light up the fandom. Din and Grogu are heading back into action, starfighters are screaming across the sky, and the New Republic may be in over its head.
The Mandalorian & Grogu hits theaters on May 22. Stay locked in. The full trailer drops tomorrow.
