THE MUMMY and THE MUMMY RETURNS Poster Art Created by Artist Nate Gonzales
If you’re a fan of Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz’s The Mummy and The Mummy Returns, I’ve got a couple of prints here for those films that are worth adding to your collection!
These prints were created by artist Nate Gonzelas for Hero Complex Gallery and they’ve done a great job capturing the adventurous tone that we love about these films. The art is done in with a retro pulp art style that I just love.
These were made available at Comic-Con this summer, but they are now available online for you to purchase if you want! These come in different print sizes but the full-size 24x26 prints are $70.
The Mummy (1999) is a reimagining of the classic Universal Studios monster film. Set in the 1920s, the narrative follows adventurer Rick O'Connell (Fraser) as he teams up with librarian Evelyn Carnahan (Weisz) and her brother Jonathan (Hannah) on a quest to Hamunaptra, the city of the dead. Their expedition inadvertently awakens Imhotep, an ancient Egyptian priest who had been cursed and mummified for his forbidden romance. As Imhotep seeks to resurrect his lost love and unleash a curse upon the Earth, the trio must race against time to stop him.
The Mummy Returns (2001) picks up a years after the first film, it once again sees Fraser and Weisz reprising their roles as Rick and Evelyn O'Connell. This time, the couple, along with their young son Alex, become embroiled in a new adventure when a resurrected Imhotep seeks the Bracelet of Anubis, a powerful artifact that can control the legendary Scorpion King and his army. As Imhotep chases the O'Connells to obtain the bracelet and harness its power, the family must thwart his plans, facing a host of supernatural challenges and combatting the ferocious Scorpion King himself.
