THE POWERPUFF GIRLS Are Coming Back on Cartoon Network
After years away from a regular TV spot, The Powerpuff Girls are finally heading back to Cartoon Network with a real-deal Saturday morning return, starting April 12th. Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup are officially clocking back in.
This marks the first time in a long time that the original Powerpuff Girls animated series has been part of a consistent broadcast schedule on Cartoon Network.
Their last notable return was in 2023 for the 25th anniversary celebration, but this new run is part of a broader push from Warner Bros. Animation to bring classic Cartoon Network shows back in fan-friendly ways.
As spotted by @CNSchedules on X, the new Saturday morning lineup is stacked with fan-favorite titles:
9:00AM – Teen Titans Go!
9:30AM – Iyanu
10:00AM – Steven Universe
10:30AM – The Powerpuff Girls
Yes, Steven Universe is also coming back, so that’s double the reason to tune in.
If you’ve been streaming The Powerpuff Girls on Netflix, you’ve only got until April 2nd before it vanishes from the platform. While the show will still be available on Max (for now), its return to Cartoon Network offers fans a more accessible way to revisit the series… as part of a Saturday morning ritual.
The show’s resurgence also arrives on the heels of renewed buzz, thanks to the recent leak of the now-cancelled live-action pilot. With interest in the original series back in full swing, this is the perfect moment to bring the animated version back to the spotlight.
If you’ve been waiting for a reason to fire up the TV like it’s 2001 again, this is it. Set your alarms, grab a bowl of cereal, and meet the girls back in Townsville, starting April 12th.
