The Punisher Might Get a Sidekick in SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY

The Marvel Cinematic Universe loves keeping fans guessing. With every new theatrical release and Disney+ series, the MCU continues to expand in ways that constantly surprise us.

One of the most exciting upcoming projects is Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is not only giving us another chapter in Peter Parker’s story but also marking the big-screen debut of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher.

And now there’s a new rumor that Frank Castle may not be operating alone. A report from reliable scooper MTTSH suggests:

“In Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Punisher has a female partner to help him track and kill criminals. They are now filming huge action scenes with the two of them chasing and trying to kill Spider-Man villains.”

That’s a wild detail to consider. The first thing that came to mind for me was Giorgia Whigham’s Amy Bendix, who played a major role in The Punisher Season 2 on Netflix.

Amy ended up crossing paths with Frank after a job went horribly wrong and her entire crew was slaughtered. Their reluctant partnership turned into a genuine bond by the end of the season, and while they went their separate ways, their connection felt like it could have been revisited in future stories.

Of course, we don’t know if this rumor will actually pan out, or if the mysterious “female partner” even turns out to be Amy. Still, with the MCU slowly weaving more of the Netflix characters into current projects, it doesn’t feel completely out of reach.

We’ve already seen Charlie Cox’s Daredevil return, Daredevil: Born Again is bringing Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones back into the fold, and Bernthal himself is proof that Marvel isn’t done with these fan-favorite portrayals.

Having Amy pop up as Frank’s ally would be a fantastic way to keep that Netflix-era spirit alive while giving Bernthal’s Punisher more depth in his MCU debut. It also helps that Amy isn’t a typical “sidekick.” She’s resourceful, tough, and knows how to survive, which makes her a natural fit for Castle’s war on crime.

Only time will tell if this rumor turns out to be true, but the possibility is exciting.
