The Second Film in Matthew Vaughn's KICK-ASS Reboot Trilogy Plan Gets a Title and Plot Details

Matthew Vaughn previously revealed his trilogy plan that will set up his long-awaited Kick-Ass reboot. The director explained that the new Kick-Ass movie will be the third film in a new trilogy of movies. The trilogy starts with an action movie titled School Fight, which will be produced by Vaughn and directed by stunt coordinator-turned-director Damien Walters. At that time, Vaughn called the second movie Vram, and said the films are all connected.

Well, we’ve now learned from Variety that the second film in the franchise will officially be titled The Stuntman. It was also revealed that the movie will be directed by Damien Walters, and that it will tell “the story of two brothers who both become stuntmen.”

It wasn’t confirmed, but I believe there’s a chance that this is the movie previously teased by Vaughn that stars Chris Hemsworth and Sam Rockwell. He said:

"I've been producing a very, very special movie. Very excited about it. I just saw half an hour cut together. This will have the same sort of impact as Kick-Ass did. What can I say is it's a movie that is written, directed, and starring my stunt team. It is a film like no other movie that's ever been made and it's also got Chris Hemsworth and Sam Rockwell in it, plus some other very, very interesting cameos, and it's reinventing an action movie."

With the movie being titled The Stuntman, and all of his talk of stuntmen being involved with the film, this has to be it. Could Hemsworth and Rockwell be the two brothers who both become stuntmen? Or will they play other characters in the story? I guess we’ll have to wait and see!

When talking about the Kick-Ass reboot, Vaughn also said, “We’re halfway through it. There’s a very, very dare I say it… and it’s gonna be a cliche coming out of this head of mine. It is a very, very meta-universe. It is what, you know, Kick-Ass was reinventing and creating an R-rated superhero and no one was really doing it. This is taking that whole concept to a worthy…not even a sequel because I think it’s just a whole new way of doing Kick-Ass, which couldn’t be more Kick-Ass.”

I’m excited to see how this whole trilogy thing plays out!
