The STRANGER THINGS Writers Reveal Disturbing Plotline Involving Eleven's Mom That Almost Happened in Season 2
Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer, aka The Duffer Brothers, have been posting new insider info to their Twitter account @strangerwriters. The first one we told you about was that Sean Astin’s Season 2 character Bob was almost killed by Will when he was possessed. We know now that Bob had his hero moment and saved the day before meeting his demise to a demodog. I was glad that the writers didn’t go the original route, as I think that would have weighed poor Will down even more, and his character has enough to deal with.
The latest “Crazy shit that almost happened” post from the writers is that in Season 2, they were originally going to have Eleven mercy kill her mother.
Once again, this is a pretty dark and heavy thing to put on one of these poor kids that already has a lot to deal with! I get that the writers have to spitball a lot of ideas before they get to the right one, so it’s good to know that they have weeded out the darkest stuff and landed on better story ideas down the road.
