The Title of Marvel's Upcoming SPIDER-MAN 3 May Have Been Revealed
It looks like the title of Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man 3 may have been revealed. According to Marvel movie scooper Charles Murphy, the title of the film will be Spider-Man: Homesick.
This titled is backed by evidence from Esquire Magazine and Maximum Magazine all printing "Homesick" as the title of Spider-Man 3 while offering an updated preview of the movies that will be coming out in the wake of the pandemic.
Spider-Man: Homesick seems like a proper title that falls in line with the other two film titles such as Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home. We don’t know for sure if this is the title or not, but this wouldn’t be the first time that a title for a Marvel movie has leaked out.
If Peter Parker/Spider-Man is on the run and in hiding after the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home, you know, since he’s a wanted man, being homesick would make sense. I imagine that he will be distancing himself from his family and friends. Thanks to Tony Stark and The Avengers, Peter has plenty of resources to run and hide and keep his loved ones safe.
In the process of being in hiding, it would make sense for Peter to also be working to clear his name. Fans are hoping that while he is doing this, he will be hunted down by Kraven The Hunter. There have been reports that Kraven the Hunter will appear in the story and head to New York City to hunt down Spider-Man, but that has yet to be confirmed.
There are a lot of different directions that this story can go in, but in a previous interview with Tom Holland, he says that the script for the film is “absolutely insane.”
Jon Watts is returning to direct the sequel with a script being written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. We don’t know how the story is going to play out. In a previous interview with Kevin Feige, he had this to say about the film:
“It’ll be fun to see Spidey back in his element, out of the shadow of Tony, out of the shadow of the other Avengers, as his own man now, as his own hero. And yet now facing his own challenges that aren’t coming from Avengers fighting, like [Captain America: Civil War], or aliens coming, like [Avengers: Infinity War] or [Avengers: Endgame]. It’s all Peter focused and Peter based.”
The next Spider-Man movie is set to be released on December 17th, 2021.
