The YouTube Creators Behind the Horror Film TALK TO ME Turn Down Offer to Direct DC Movie

A trailer was recently released for an upcoming horror movie titled Talk To Me. This is a great and terrifying film that is a must watch for anyone who enjoys watching horror films! That movie was directed by brothers Danny Philippou and Michael Philippou and before they directed that film they were YouTube content creators who were known as the RackaRacka Brothers.

Well, it turns out that the directors were approached by DC Studios heads James Gunn and Peter Safran, and when they met with them, the brothers were offered the opportunity to direct a DC movie. They ended up turning down that opportunity! During an Instagram Live, the directing duo explained:

"'How did the DC meeting go?' Amazing. DC meeting went amazing. They offered us a project, but we decided not to go for it at the moment. We wanted to, yeah, just stick with our original material for the time being. But yeah, we'll see. In the future, you never know. You never know. I'm keen to see what James Gunn does with the universe. I'm excited to see it."

I absolutely love the fact that these two young filmmakers said no to directing a big DC Movie and are more interested in telling their own original stories! That seriously takes discipline and guts. They probably also realize they have a lot more to learn about filmmaking before they take on a huge $150 million dollar project for a major studio. Or, you know, maybe they aren’t DC fans.

All I know is that these two filmmakers are making smart decisions with their filmmaking careers, and it will benefit them in the long run.
