There Are Big Costume Changes Coming To Spider-Man in Marvel's Sequel

Some new information has surfaced regarding the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming and it involves Spider-Man's costume. Apparently there are some big changes coming to it and it hints at what we might expect to see from the film.

Even though Spider-Man bit the dust in Avengers: Infinity War, we all know that he's coming back. There was talk of the film taking place prior to the events of Infinity War, but that is becoming less and less likely.

The following information comes from Spider-Man: Homecoming and Ant-Man and The Wasp costume designer Louise Frogley. He tells IndiaWest:

"I am not actually working on that film, but the costumes will have very big changes because, in the film, Spider-Man becomes more like a man and not a teenager."

The fact that she says Spider-Man will be more like a man, tells us that some years will have passed following the events of the Avengers films. It's always fun to watch the costumes evolve with these Marvel characters, and it's going to be cool to see what kind of superhero suit Tom Holland's Peter Parker will be sporting in this sequel. She goes on to talk about her experience working on the first film, saying:

"Technically, it was very difficult because we were trying to get back to the earlier years and it was hard to create. We had to get the scale absolutely right, and we did a lot of camera testing to visualize the final product. We did close to ten tests before we finally go it right and it was very important to get the technical elements of it right. Marvel (production house Marvel Studios) was really good in content for the testing.
"We had a very brilliant cutter finisher too who make the actual patent-like suit. We were very lucky that we had very gifted people working with us. We wanted to make it fresh but very classic because it's the beginning of the Spider-Man as a young man."

She goes on to say that Marvel ultimately wanted to keep the costume simple, which worked great.

"Marvel researched very thoroughly, and they were very clever about the decision and decided it should be pretty simple. As a young guy, he had his homemade suit, and then he has this beautiful suit that Tony Stark gives him, which is pretty cool."

The sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming will be released on July 5, 2019. Jake Gyllenhaal is also in talks to take on the role of Mysterio in the film. There were also some rumored story and character details that you can read up on here if you want.

What are you hoping to see from the updated Spider-Man costume?
