This SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY Teaser Will Make Every Marvel Fan Feel Like a Kid Again

After decades of superhero movies filling theaters and streaming services, it’s easy to lose sight of what made so many of us fall in love with comic book stories in the first place.

Sure, the giant battles and universe-ending stakes are fun, but at their heart, these characters sparked our imaginations when we were kids playing with action figures and dreaming up our own adventures.

That’s exactly what the latest teaser for Spider-Man: Brand New Day captures, and it might be one of the most charming pieces of Marvel marketing we’ve seen in a long time.

The short video comes from stop-motion artist Angelink Films on Instagram and starts exactly how fans of the creator would expect. A Spider-Man figure swings through the air, firing webs before squaring off against a Punisher action figure in a fun stop-motion showdown.

Then comes the surprise. Right at the end of the video, Tom Holland and Jon Bernthal appear holding the same Spider-Man and Punisher figures, turning what already felt like a nostalgic tribute into a genuinely heartwarming moment for Marvel fans.

The teaser doesn’t reveal anything about the story of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but it doesn’t have to. Its biggest strength is reminding us why these characters have meant so much to generations of fans.

It taps into the excitement of picking up a Spider-Man toy, reading your first Marvel comic, or pretending your favorite heroes were saving the world right there on your bedroom floor.

This also fits perfectly with the film’s marketing campaign so far. Sony has been having a lot of fun involving fans and creators instead of relying on traditional trailers alone.

It’s a refreshing approach that celebrates the fan community just as much as the movie itself. Of course, don’t expect Spider-Man: Brand New Day to stay this wholesome once the movie begins.

Following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter Parker finds himself more isolated than ever after Doctor Strange erased the world's memory of his identity.

With no friends, no family, and no relationship with MJ, Peter throws himself completely into being Spider-Man. When a dangerous new threat emerges, he’ll once again have to carry the weight of protecting New York on his own.

Alongside Holland and Bernthal, the film brings back Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds. Joining the cast are Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk and Sadie Sink in a mystery role that many fans continue to speculate could be Jean Grey.

Whether or not the movie delivers the next great Spider-Man adventure, this little teaser already accomplished something special.

It reminded us that before superhero movies became billion-dollar blockbusters, they were stories that inspired kids to imagine impossible adventures with a couple of action figures in their hands.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31 in the U.S. and July 29 in the U.K.
