THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER Set Photos Feature Jane Foster and Valkyrie
Some photos from the set of director Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder have surfaced online via Daily Mail. These photos feature Natalie Portman back in the role of Jane Foster and Tessa Thompson reprising her role as Valkyrie, but it looks like she’s wearing her Men in Black suit.
I’ve also included a set video that shows Jane Foster floating in the air making convulsive movements. I wonder if this might be our first look at her making her transformation into the Mighty Thor.
Thor: Love and Thunder also stars Chris Hemsworth back as the God of Thunder; Chris Pratt will return as Star-Lord; and it was announced that Christian Bale will play Gore The God Butcher.
I’m excited about Jane Foster’s storyline in this movie as she takes on the mantle of Thor. Jane Foster’s Thor story arc is based on Jason Aaron’s comic book run on The Mighty Thor, the story of which follows a cancer-stricken Jane Foster as she takes up the mantle and powers of Thor. According to Portman, this storyline will be a part of the film, saying:
"I can’t tell you that much. I’m really excited. I’m starting to train, to get muscles. If there can be all these female superheroes, the more of them they are, the better it is. I’m trying to think — it’s based on the graphic novel of The Mighty Thor. She’s going through cancer treatment and is a superhero on the side."
Thor: Love and Thunder is currently set to arrive in theaters on February 11th, 2022.
