Tom Hanks Goes From Grumpy to Lovable in Charming New Trailer For A MAN CALLED OTTO
We’ve got a new trailer to share with you for the upcoming feel-good Tom Hanks movie A Man Called Otto. Hanks plays a grumpy old man in the story, who “doesn't hate the world. Just the people ruining it." He’s just had enough of the world, but over the course of the story, his hardened heart is softened thanks to a new family that moves into his neighborhood.
As a fan of Hanks, I’m looking forward to watching the movie. I do want to point out that it looks like Hanks is trying to channel Harrison Ford. He’s just got that same kind of tone to the character he’s playing.
The movie is based on the comical and moving novel by Fredrik Backman, which “tells the story of Otto Anderson (Hanks), a grumpy widower who is very set in his ways. When a lively young family moves in next door, he meets his match in quick-witted and very pregnant Marisol, leading to an unlikely friendship that will turn his world upside-down. Experience a funny, heartwarming story about how some families come from the most unexpected places.”
The movie was directed by Marc Forster (Finding Neverland), and the script was written by David Magee (Life of Pi, Finding Neverland). It also stars Mariana Treviño (Club the Cuervos), Rachel Keller (Fargo), and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Magnificent Seven).
A Man Called Otto is set to be released on Christmas and will be available everywhere on January 13th.
