Tom Hardy Talks About Wanting a Venom and Spider-Man Crossover Says He'll "Do Anything to Make It Happen"
When Sony Pictures went ahead and made a Venom movie without the involvement of Spider-Man, it left fans wondering if there would ever be any kind of crossover. After all, Venom and Spider-Man have a long history together, and it would be crazy if they never did come face to face with each other.
With the way that Marvel and Sony are setting things up with the multiverse, though, there’s more of a possibility that it could happen. But, we still just don’t know what Marvel and Sony are planning for these characters beyond the upcoming films Spider-Man: No Way Home and Venom: Let There Be Carnage.
During a recent interview with Esquire, Tom Hardy talked about wanting to see a Venom and Spider-Man crossover and he says he’ll do anything to make it happen. He shared:
“I would be remiss if I wasn’t trying to steer any kind of connectivity. I wouldn’t be doing the job if I wasn’t awake and open to any opportunity or eventuality or be excited by that. Obviously, that’s a large canyon to leap, to be bridged by one person alone, and it would take a much higher level of diplomacy and intelligence, sitting down and talking, to take on an arena such as that.
“Should both sides be willing, and it be beneficial to both sides, I don’t see why it couldn’t be. I hope and strongly, with both hands, push, eagerly, towards that potential, and would do anything to make that happen, within what’s right in business. But it would be foolish not to head towards the Olympic Games if you were running 100 metres, so yeah! I want to play on that field.”
We know that there are going to be some Spider-Man movie crossovers with Morbius because Michael Keaton’s Vulture is in the film. If that can happen, I guess anything is possible. Venom also might be appearing in that film as well, which should make things interesting.
Sony and Marvel are building up to something, and I wouldn’t be surprised if at some point down the road Venom and Spider-Man will crossover.
