Tom Hardy's VENOM 3 Gets a New 2024 Release Date
Sony Pictures pushed Tom Hardy‘s Venom 3 to a new release date. The film was originally supposed to be released on July 12, 2024, and it will now be released on November 8, 2024.
Kelly Marcel, who wrote and produced the first two Venom films, is directing this third one from a screenplay she wrote. That script is based on a story that she developed with Hardy.
Hardy will be back in the role of Eddie Brock, and he is joined by Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor. It’s been rumored that Ejiofor will be taking on the role of a character named Orwell Taylor. Not much else is known about the story, but I’m not expecting much after those first two films.
As for the character Orwell Taylor, he is a relatively obscure character from the Marvel Universe. He was first introduced in Venom: The Mace #1 in 1994. He’s a former U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel with a vendetta against superhuman vigilantes who he holds responsible for the death of his son.
After his son was killed by Venom, Taylor assembled The Jury, an armored vigilante group designed to judge and execute vigilantes, especially Venom, who Taylor held personally accountable for his son's death. Despite his adversarial stance against some of Marvel's heroes, Taylor believes himself to be a force for justice, attempting to hold superpowered individuals accountable for the collateral damage they cause.
Venom 3 is being produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal and Hutch Parker.
