The clip features legendary pro skater Tony Hawk, who talks about how Marty’s street-shredding moment in 1985 inspired an entire generation of skateboarders. Hawk shares,

“When I saw Back to the Future and I saw Marty McFly skateboarding, that was the first time I felt like, ‘Oh, this is something that is now being recognized by Hollywood as cool.’ It validated everything we were doing.”

Alongside Hawk, stunt coordinator Walter Scott, producer and co-writer Bob Gale, and stunt double John Clay Scott offer behind-the-scenes stories about how Marty’s skate scenes came together and why they still resonate today.

The featurette is just one part of the massive anniversary set packed with brand-new bonus content, including:

  • Back to Hill Valley – Gale and Donald Fullilove (“Mayor Goldie Wilson”) revisit some of the film’s original locations.

Originally released on July 3, 1985, Back to the Future became an instant classic. The film follows Marty McFly, played by Michael J. Fox, a California teenager accidentally sent back to 1955 in a plutonium-powered DeLorean built by his eccentric friend, Christopher Lloyd’s Doc Brown.

To make it home, Marty must fix history and ensure his parents, played by Lea Thompson and Crispin Glover, fall in love before time runs out.

Forty years later, the movie’s influence still ripples through pop culture.

So grab your hoverboard and get ready to head Back to the Futureonce again when the film hits theaters October 31. Great Scott, this celebration is pure movie magic.
