Trailer for BURY THE DEVIL Unleashes a Creepy One-Take Horror Experience

If you're a fan of horror movies that trap you in the middle of the nightmare, Bury the Devil looks like it might be worth adding to your watchlist.

Brainstorm Media has released the full official trailer for the upcoming indie horror thriller, and it's serving up a seriously unsettling glimpse at a supernatural story told entirely in one continuous take.

The film premiered earlier this year at FrightFest Glasgow and is making its way to audiences this August in theaters and on VOD. While the one-shot filmmaking approach has been used before in movies like One Cut of the Dead, Boiling Point, and The Silent House, it still has the potential to crank up the tension when it's paired with a claustrophobic horror story like this one.

The story follows nurse Julia, who finds herself trapped inside the home of one of her dementia patients after a routine visit takes a terrifying turn.

As strange events begin to unfold, she realizes the house is hiding something much darker than she expected. An evil presence appears to be creeping through the old home's walls, leaving Julia completely isolated with nowhere to run.

From the trailer alone, the atmosphere looks incredibly intense. The single-take presentation keeps the camera locked into Julia's terrifying experience, making every dark hallway, every strange sound, and every unexpected encounter feel even more immediate. It definitely isn't a movie for anyone who startles easily.

The film stars Dawn Ford, Emmanuelle Lussier Martinez, and Bill Rowat, with Adam O'Brien directing his second feature after 2024's Mom. O'Brien also previously directed several horror shorts along with segments for The Source of Shadows and Nightmare Radio.

The screenplay comes from Brad Hodson and John Petrizzi, based on an original story idea by O'Brien. Bury the Devil will be released in select U.S. theaters and on VOD beginning August 21, 2026.
