Trailer for Jennifer Connelly's Dark Comedy BAD BEHAVIOUR

Here’s a trailer for a new Jennifer Connelly movie coming out titled Bad Behaviour. In the film, Connelly plays a former child star who finds herself at an enlightenment retreat. She’s obviously going through some stuff including an agitiated relationship with her daughter, who’s played by Alice Englert. It looks like a weird and quirky film.

In the story, “Lucy seeks enlightenment. The former child actress makes a pilgrimage to join her guru, Elon Bello, for a silent retreat at a beautiful mountain resort with a Tesla-crammed parking lot. Before she shuts off her phone to the world, Lucy reaches out to her daughter, Dylan — a stunt person training for a dangerous fight scene — to interrupt her concentration and announce that she will be unavailable and out of range, and that she is very worried about her, and that she might extend her stay. It is co-dependent, bad behavior. When a young model/DJ/influencer at the retreat is paired up with Lucy to do a mother/daughter role-playing exercise, hellfire stokes Lucy’s bad behavior to an astonishing low.”

The film marks Alice Englert’s feature directorial debut and she also wrote the script. The film had its world premiere at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. Joining Englert and Connelly in the film are Ben Whishaw, Ana Scotney, Dasha Nekrasova, Karan Gill, Beulah Koale and Marlon Williams.

Further details about its U.S. release have not yet been announced, but it will start playing in New Zealand theaters on November 2 and in Australian theaters on November 9.
