Trailer for Jonah Hill’s OUTCOME - Keanu Reeves Leads a Strange, Dark Hollywood Spiral

Apple TV+ just released the first trailer for Outcome, a dark comedy from Jonah Hill, who directed and co-wrote, and stars in the film. As you’ll see, he’s digging into something personal while wrapping it in an offbeat Hollywood story.

At the center of it all is Keanu Reeves, playing a massively famous actor named Reef Hawk. On the surface, Reef has it all. But that polished image starts to crack when a mysterious video from his past resurfaces and someone uses it to threaten everything he’s built.

The trailer teases the fallout without giving away what’s actually on the tape, which makes the whole thing feel even more unsettling.

The synopsis reads: “Outcome is a dark comedy that centers on Reef Hawk (Keanu Reeves), a beloved Hollywood star who must dive into the depths of his hidden demons after he is extorted with a mysterious video that’s sure to shatter his image and end his career.

“With the support of his lifelong besties Kyle (Cameron Diaz) & Xander (Matt Bomer), along with his crisis lawyer Ira (Jonah Hill), Reef embarks on a soul-searching journey to make amends with anyone he could have possibly wronged in hopes of identifying the blackmailer.”

The supporting cast includes Cameron Diaz and Matt Bomer, who play Reef’s closest friends, while Hill shows up as his oddball lawyer trying to help him navigate the mess. Then you’ve got appearances from David Spade, Kaia Gerber, Roy Wood Jr., Laverne Cox, Drew Barrymore, and even Martin Scorsese.

There’s a strong sense that Hill is channeling something personal into this story. Reef Hawk isn’t literally him, but it definitely feels like a character shaped by similar experiences, regrets, and a need to make sense of the past. The film seems to follow Reef as he retraces old relationships and mistakes, trying to figure out who’s coming after him and why.

Hill brings a unique lens to Reef’s wild but spiritually cleansing, nostalgic and eye-opening trip down memory lane, where confronting his past might be the way to rescue his future.

Hill previously directed Mid90s and Stutz, and both had a very specific voice. Outcome looks like it’s continuing that trend, just with a bigger cast and a more chaotic narrative. Whether it all comes together is still a mystery, but it’s definitely got that “you’ve gotta see this for yourself” energy.

Apple is set to drop Outcome on Apple TV+ on April 10, 2026.
