Trailer for Lou Ferrigno’s THE HERMIT Drops a Cannibal Nightmare in the Woods
Uncork’d Entertainment has released the official trailer for The Hermit, an indie horror thriller that stars Lou Ferrigno. This time, there’s no gamma radiation, just blood, dirt, and a very bad idea to take a vacation in the woods.
Ferrigno plays the film’s nightmarish centerpiece, a reclusive and terrifying cannibal pig farmer known only as the Hermit. He lives off the grid, raises pigs, and sells homemade jerky made from human flesh.
When teens Lisa and Eric are dragged along on a remote woodland getaway, their trip quickly collapses into a brutal fight for survival against a killer who refuses to stay down.
The film marks Ferrigno’s first step into the horror genre, and he sounds genuinely excited about it. As he shared in a statement, “I've always been a big fan of scary movies and I hope this one will be on everyone’s list to watch!”
Lisa and Eric are played by Malina Weissman and Anthony Turpel, who find themselves hunted by a man who knows the forest far better than they ever could.
The official description calls the film “dark, action-packed, and wildly entertaining,” even if the trailer itself doesn’t fully sell that promise. Still, there’s something scrappy and grimy about the footage that horror fans might latch onto, especially those who enjoy indie slashers with an offbeat edge.
The Hermit is directed by Salvatore Sclafani, a US-based Italian genre filmmaker. The screenplay comes from William Walkerley.
Uncork'd Entertainment plans to release The Hermit straight to VOD in the US on March 3rd, 2026.
