Trailer For The Godzilla Series MONARCH: LEGACY OF MONSTERS - "When Monsters Emerge, Secrets Follow"
Apple TV+ has released the first exciting teaser trailer for its upcoming Godzilla series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. It features Kurt Russell’s character, who is explaining some big secrets that he’s been hiding his mission of protecting the world of Godzilla and the other giant Kaiju monsters, while also protecting the humans. Things obviously didn’t go as planned because in the trailer we see Godzilla on a furious rampage!
The series is set in the same universe as Godzilla, Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Godzilla vs. Kong, and the upcoming sequel Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. The trailer even features John Goodman, who appeared in Kong: Skull Island.
This show actually looks like it could be a great show! There’s a chance that it actually might be better than the movies that have been made. We’ll see! I like what I’m seeing in this first teaser trailer, though.
Spanning three generations, the series follows “the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch.”
It’s explained that “Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell), taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows.”
The epic saga spans three generations and “reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives.”
The series was developed by Chris Black and Matt Fraction, and Matt Shakman (WandaVision, Fantastic Four) directed the first two episodes. All three of the are also executive producers. Additionally, Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita executive produce on behalf of Toho Co., Ltd., the owner of the Godzilla character.
The cast also includes Anna Sawai (Pachinko), Ren Watabe (461 Days of Bento), Kiersey Clemons (Hearts Beat Loud), Joe Tippett (Mare of Easttown), Anders Holm (The Mindy Project), and Elisa Lasowski.
