TV Spot for THE ODYSSEY Offers New Footage and Reveals Travis Scott Has Joined the Epic

A new TV spot for The Odyssey made its way onto screens during this weekend’s New England Patriots vs. Denver Broncos AFC Championship game, and it came packed with an unexpected reveal.

While the promo hasn’t been officially released online, an HD version has surfaced online offering a fresh look at the film and confirming that rapper Travis Scott is part of the cast in a role no one saw coming.

The teaser drops viewers into a pivotal moment early in the story. Telemachus is searching for answers about his missing father, Odysseus, when Menelaus, the Greek king of Sparta and brother to Agamemnon, asks for a tale of the legendary hero’s exploits.

That’s when Scott’s unnamed character steps forward, climbing onto a table to recount the Trojan Horse deception that led to Troy’s downfall.

Standing above the crowd, Scott delivers the moment with intensity, declaring, “A man. A trick. A trick to break the walls of Troy. It's burning, screaming to the ground.”

Seeing Scott appear in The Odyssey might feel random, but this actually isn’t his first collaboration with filmmaker Christopher Nolan. Back in 2020, Scott recorded the track “The Plan” for the Tenet soundtrack.

Following Oppenheimer, there was a lot of curiosity around what Nolan would tackle next. His decision to adapt Homer’s ancient epic, written in the 8th century, caught many off guard. Still, Nolan stepping into a full-on sword-and-sandals story feels like a natural evolution, especially with the scale and ambition he’s known for.

The official synopsis promises something massive: “Christopher Nolan’s next film The Odyssey is a mythic action epic shot across the world using brand new IMAX film technology. The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to Imax film screens for the first time and opens in theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026.”

Homer’s poem remains one of the most important works in Western literature, following Odysseus, King of Ithaca, as he struggles to return home after the Trojan War. Along the way, he faces unforgettable trials including the Cyclops Polyphemus, the Sirens, and the witch-goddess Circe.

His wife Penelope waits faithfully, while his son Telemachus embarks on a journey of his own that becomes just as crucial to the story.

Nolan has assembled a massive ensemble to bring this story to life. The cast includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong'o, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, Elliot Page, Jon Bernthal, Mia Goth, John Leguizamo, Himesh Patel, Will Yun Lee, Bill Irwin, Samantha Morton, Jesse Garcia, Corey Hawkins, Josh Stewart, Jimmy Gonzales, Maurice Compte, and Logan Marshall-Green.

The film sails into theaters on July 17, 2026.
