TWISTED METAL Series Renewed For Season 2 at Peacock

If you enjoyed the first season of the live-action Twisted Metal series, you’ll be happy to hear that the show has been renewed for a second season. The first season of the series ended up being pretty damn entertaining, and I’m not surprised that we will be getting another season.

Showrunner, writer, and executive producer Michael Jonathan Smith said in a statement: “I have to give a Sweet Tooth-sized thank you to our incredible fans – I read every comment and was so blown away by everyone’s love, support, and rabid enthusiasm for a paper bag. We are beyond thankful we get to continue the story of John Doe, Quiet, and Sweet Tooth as they face off against familiar faces and new grim foes in the long-awaited Twisted Metal tournament. The mixtape is made, and I’m thrilled to get back on the road with our stellar cast and crew.”

Season 1 series follows a motor-mouthed outsider who’s offered a chance at a new life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of an axe-wielding car thief, he faces seedy individuals driving damage-inducing vehicles and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.

The series was developed by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Zombieland) and it was based on the classic video game.

Anthony Mackie and Will Arnett not only star in the series, but they also serve as executive produceRs. They are joined by Brooklyn Nine-Nine alum Stephanie Beatriz, Joe Seanoa (AEW), and Thomas Haden Church (Spider-Man 3).

Peacock says the series is its most-binged original in its first week. It currently ranks among Peacock’s top three originals of all time as new viewers continue to discover the series.
