Twisted New Trailer For MONSTER: THE ED GEIN STORY Shows Charlie Hunnam Wearing Human Flesh

Netflix has released the trailer for the upcoming third season of its anthology series Monster, and this time the spotlight falls on one of the most disturbing figures in true crime history… Ed Gein.

The new season, titled Monster: The Ed Gein Story, stars Charlie Hunnam as the notorious murderer whose gruesome crimes inspired decades of horror films.

The trailer wastes no time plunging viewers into the nightmare of Gein’s world. Hunnam fully transforms into the Wisconsin recluse, at one point seen stripping naked and wearing a grotesque suit of human flesh, which was one of Gein’s chilling and insane real-life obsessions.

Netflix’s official description paints a haunting picture of the story audiences can expect:

“Serial killer. Grave robber. Psycho. In the frozen fields of 1950s rural Wisconsin, a friendly, mild-mannered recluse named Eddie Gein lived quietly on a decaying farm – hiding a house of horrors so gruesome it would redefine the American nightmare.

“Driven by isolation, psychosis, and an all-consuming obsession with his mother, Gein’s perverse crimes birthed a new kind of monster that would haunt Hollywood for decades.

“From Psycho to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre to The Silence of the Lambs, Gein’s macabre legacy gave birth to fictional monsters born in his image and ignited a cultural obsession with the criminally deviant. Ed Gein didn’t just influence a genre — he became the blueprint for modern horror.”

Alongside Hunnam, the cast features Tom Hollander, Laurie Metcalf, Suzanna Son, Vicky Krieps, Olivia Williams, Lesley Manville, Joey Pollari, Charlie Hall, Tyler Jacob Moore, Mimi Kennedy, Will Brill, Greyson K. Reilly, and Robin Weigert.

The series was created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, with Brennan also serving as writer and directing two episodes. Hunnam takes on double duty as both lead actor and executive producer. Max Winkler is an executive producer who also directs six of the season’s episodes.

The success of Monster continues to grow, and Netflix has already confirmed a fourth season. That chapter will shift focus to the infamous Lizzie Borden case, with Ella Beatty set to play Borden and Hunnam currently negotiating to return as her father.

With its mix of true crime horror and powerhouse performances, Monster: The Ed Gein Story looks to deliver one of the darkest and most unsettling seasons yet, diving into the twisted psyche of the man who redefined horror forever.

The series is set to premiere on October 3rd.
