Two New Clips From Disney's Live-Action MULAN and a BTS Featurette

As we previously reported, Disney has removed it’s live-action adaptation of Mulan off the release schedule. We have no idea when the movie will be released at this point, but while we wait for new information, we have a new featurette and a couple of clips to share with you.

The featurette offers us a behind-the-scenes look at the movie along with some footage from the film. It includes interviews with members of the cast and crew including Yifei Liu (Mulan), Jason Scott Lee (Böri Khan), director Niki Caro and more.

As for the two clips, they give us a good look at what to expect from the film with extended scenes that involve the main characters stepping up to bring honor to her family as well and a scene where she finds herself at odds with another soldier.

The movie has been met with a lot of positive praise from critics and I think that it might actually end up being an improvement on the animated film. Here’s the synopsis:

When the Emperor of China issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army to defend the country from Northern invaders, Hua Mulan, the eldest daughter of an honored warrior, steps in to take the place of her ailing father. Masquerading as a man, Hua Jun, she is tested every step of the way and must harness her inner-strength and embrace her true potential. It is an epic journey that will transform her into an honored warrior and earn her the respect of a grateful nation…and a proud father.

Mulan also features Donnie Yen as Commander Tung; Yoson An as Cheng Honghui; with Gong Li as Xianniang; and Jet Li as the Emperor.
