UNTIL DAWN Movie Adds Original Game Actor Peter Stormare To Cast

Peter Stormare (Clown, John Wick 2), Maia Mitchell (The Fosters), and Belmont Cameli (Saved by the Bell reboot) have joined the cast of the film adaptation of Until Dawn, which is coming from Sony’s Screen Gems and PlayStation Productions.

Stormare is one of the actors from the original game and he will reprise his role as therapist Dr. Hill. It’s pretty cool that they brought Stormare back for the film.

They join the previously announced cast Ella Rubin (The Idea of You), Michael Cimino (Love, Victor), Ji-young Yoo (Expats) and Odessa A’zion (Sitting In Bars With Cake).

David F. Sandberg (Lights Out, Annabelle: Creation, Shazam!) is set to direct the film, and it’s great to see him return to the horror genre. The project also reunites him with his Annabelle: Creation writer-producer Gary Dauberman.

Sandberg in a statement: “I’ve been longing to do horror again after Lights Out and Annabelle: Creation, and this film explores the many great subgenres of horror to create the most terrifying experience possible.

“Capturing the essence of the game but with new characters, it serves as a great stand-alone introduction to the world for the newcomer as well as offers something new that the fans of the game will enjoy.”

The plot for the film is under wraps but it’s been described as “an R-rated and terrifying love letter to the horror genre, centering on an ensemble cast.”

The story for the 2015 game is set one year after the death and disappearance of twin sisters Hannah and Beth, when eight friends return to the cabin in the mountains belonging to the parents of their friend Josh, brother of the missing sisters.

Shortly after arriving, the friends realize that they may not be the only people on this mountain. What follows is a fun and creepy mystery story that involves a mysterious killer and cannibalistic Wendigos.
