Update on Jordan Peele's TWILIGHT ZONE Series and It will Start Production Soon
In case you forgot, Jordan Peele (Get Out) and Simon Kinberg (X-Men franchise) are developing a new Twilight Zone reboot. The Twilight Zone is probably my number one favorite series of all time, so the team behind this reboot better do it justice!
CBS TV Studios president David Stapf and EVP Original Content Julie McNamara have offered an update on the project and confirmed that the series will begin production within the next two months for CBS All Access.
"We have a room, we have a first season of concepts, outlines, scripted — various stages of all these things — of that 10 eps a season. We are well on our way, and we are going to start production in the next couple of months."
When talking about who will be overseeing the series saying Stapf commented that since the series is an anthology it doesn’t "need to look at it as who’s the showrunner" when asked about who will be running the series. McNamara added that Greg Yaitanes will be overseeing the continuity of the series from a production standpoint.
When previously talking about the series, Peele said, "Too many times this year it’s felt we were living in a twilight zone, and I can’t think of a better moment to reintroduce it to modern audiences." Kinberg went on to say, “The Twilight Zone was a touchstone in my life. The opportunity to continue its lineage is a dream come true, and I’m so thrilled to be doing it."
Those old episodes of The Twilight Zone are still relevant today. If you watch them now, they deal with topics that you can easily liken to today's world. It's pretty incredible. Hopefully, this reboot will be just as good and just as powerful as the original.
