WARRIOR Star Andrew Koji Will Play Storm Shadow in Upcoming G.I. JOE Film SNAKE EYES
You can’t have a G.I. Joe movie staring Snake Eyes and not include Storm Shadow! Of course Storm Shadow in the going to be in the film! Well, it’s being reported that Storm Shadow will be played by Warrior actor Andrew Koji, and he’s a great choice!
Koji will join the previously cast Henry Golding, who will be taking on the title role of Snake Eyes. The film is said to focus on the origins of the fan-favorite character.
Snake Eyes is being directed by Robert Schwentke (The Captain, RED) from a script written by Evan Spiliotopoulos, who wrote Beauty and the Beast and The Huntsman: Winter’s War.
The story centers on Snake Eyes’ as “he tries to become a member of the Arashikage Clan, a ninja clan based in Japan. The Arashikage worked as shadowy assassins for generations, using deception to earn their keep as ninjas, as well as developing a reputation for being able to perform impossible tasks. Known as the Young Master, Storm Shadow studied under his uncles, clan leaders Hard Master and Soft Master. Storm Shadow was poised to continue the family business and inherit stewardship of the clan, but Snake Eyes proved to be an amazingly quick study.”
There’s also a second G.I. Joe film in development that has been described as an ensemble project that will include the character Chuckles. That movie is being developed by writers Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec (Alias, Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol).
Snake Eyes will be released on October 16th, 2020. What do you think about Koji taking on the role of Storm Shadow?
