Watch Sebastian Stan as Donald Trump in First Clip From THE APPRENTICE

The first clip from the upcoming film The Apprentice has been released and it features the first footage of Sebastian Stan playing former President Donald Trump.

The film is a Trump biopic from director Ali Abbasi and in the clip, Roy Cohn (Jeremy Strong) is coaching Trump as he takes an interview over the phone in a car.

Trump says in the trailer: “I intend to acquire the Commodore, and I’m planning on making it the best and the finest building in the city, maybe the country — in the world … it’s going to be the finest building in the world.”

After making its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, the film struggled to find a buyer due to its controversial nature. But, the film ended up landing at Briarcliff Entertainment.

There’s a scene in the film that shocked viewers at Cannes that featured Trump raping his then wife Ivana, played by Maria Bakalova.

The Trump campaign threatened legal action over the movie, saying in a statement, “This garbage is pure fiction which sensationalizes lies that have been long debunked.”

The movie is described as being an “exploration of power and ambition, set in a world of corruption and deceit, The Apprentice will examine Trump’s efforts to build his real estate business in New York in the ’70s and ’80s, also digging into his relationship with infamous attorney Roy Cohn. It’s a mentor-protege story that charts the origins of a major American dynasty.”
