Watch Some Never-Before-Seen Footage From KARATE KID That Will Be Used in COBRA KAI

We recently learned that there would be old never-before-seen footage from the classic 1980s film The Karate Kid in the new sequel series Cobra Kai. Well, now a bit of that unseen footage has been revealed in a new featurette released for the upcoming series that sees the rivalry between Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) continue 30 years after the legendary All Valley Karate Tournament.

The video features executive producers Josh HealdJon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg explaining how they created a whole new shot of the old match for their show. It's a brief shot that focuses on Johnny after he’s been kicked in the face by Daniel's crane kick. One of the ways they were able to pull this off was that they managed to get some old footage from the original movie that didn't make the final cut.

The producers also explain that one of the main things this series is going to do is show Johnny Lawrence as the underdog in the story. He is the guy they want the fans to root for this time around. I love that! I'm pretty excited about this show and I'm excited about watching it tomorrow. Here's the footage that they shared:
