WB is Reportedly Considering Michael B. Jordan For The Role of Superman

We recently learned that Henry Cavill is walking away from the role of Superman for a variety of reasons. One of the main reasons is that the studio has been looking at taking their DC films in a new direction for awhile now.

This news of Henry Cavill leaving the role has been backed up by another source and that source is Deadline. This news of Cavill is coming from respectable sources so there is really weight behind these reports.

Deadline is reporting that the studio has already been looking at actors to replace Henry Cavill when they decide to move forward with another Superman movie. One of those actors they’ve been considering is Micheal B. Jordon, which is sure to surprise a lot of you. The report says:

The word has been out that Warner Bros. has been mulling a completely different direction with its Superman canon for some time, even considering casting Michael B. Jordan in the role down the road. But at the present moment a Supergirl movie is the studio’s priority.

As of right now there are no new Superman films in development. So, with the plan to slowly push the DC films in another direction, anything can happen with Superman.

With Michael B. Jordan being considered for the role, it makes me think that the studio is looking at bringing the Kalel (Earth 23) a.k.a. Calvin Ellis version of Superman to the big screen, which would be pretty cool.

Now, just because they have considered this, doesn’t mean it’s going to happen. WB and DC are still trying to figure out what exactly they want to do with their films. But this gives us an idea of the drastically different directions that the studio may be looking at taking Superman in the future.

What do you think about WB looking at Michael B. Jordan as a possible Superman?
