Will ENOLA HOLMES Star Louis Partridge Be the Next James Bond? New Rumor Says He's "in Contention"

The search for the next James Bond is on, and a new name has entered the conversation in a big way. With Amazon MGM now steering the future of the iconic spy franchise, fans are watching closely to see who will step into 007’s tailored suit. The latest rumor points to a younger, fresh-faced direction, with Louis Partridge reportedly in the mix.

Following Daniel Craig’s final outing in No Time to Die, the Bond franchise has entered a new era. After Amazon MGM secured full creative control, longtime producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson stepped away, marking a major shift behind the scenes.

That change raised plenty of questions, but bringing in Dune director Denis Villeneuve to helm the next chapter has helped ease concerns for a lot of fans.

Now the big mystery remains: who will be the next 007? Several actors have been mentioned in the rumor mill, including Callum Turner, Harris Dickinson, and Jacob Elordi. But according to a new report from Variety, Partridge has emerged as a serious possibility. The outlet notes that the young Enola Holmes and Disclaimer actor is now “in contention for the job.”

That said, it’s far from official. The report makes that clear with a perfectly Bond-style note: "Attempts to confirm with Partridge's reps or Amazon MGM Studios have been as predictably futile as any Bond villain's wildly-complicated plans for global domination."

Still, the idea isn’t coming out of nowhere. There’s been chatter that producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman are interested in taking Bond in a younger direction. At just 23, Partridge would easily fit that vision and would become the youngest actor to ever play the role.

That age shift could have a huge impact on the kind of story being told. As one producer explained, "Writing a film to be led by a 23-year-old is completely different to writing one for a 36-year-old — they’re just totally different."

It’s an interesting contrast, especially since older contenders like James Norton, who is 40, are also reportedly being considered.

Behind the scenes, the creative team is already hard at work shaping this new version of Bond. Steven Knight, best known for Peaky Blinders, is writing the script and seems genuinely excited about the challenge.

He said, "It has always been on my bucket list, and it's fantastic to be invited to do it - I can't wait to get started," and added, "I'm hoping that, being a Bond fan for so many years, it will be imbued into me and I will be able to produce something that's the same but different, and better, stronger and bolder."

Knight also touched on the weight of handling such an iconic character, saying, "Obviously, with Bond, what you're dealing with is now a character of folklore, really. It's like Robin Hood or King Arthur, in the context of the culture of this country and beyond. And so you've got to treat it with respect."

As for when we’ll actually learn who the next Bond is, that’s still up in the air. There’s been speculation about a reveal at CinemaCon, but history suggests the franchise might opt for a more dramatic, UK-based announcement when the time is right.

For now, Partridge’s name is one to keep an eye on. Whether he lands the role or not, it’s clear that Bond’s future is heading in a new and interesting direction.
