Will Smith Might Be Battling a Young Clone of Himself in Ang Lee's GEMINI MAN

We recently learned that Ang Lee was in talks to direct a sci-fi film project called Gemini Man that has been waiting to be developed since 1997. The technology it would take to bring this story to life has finally caught up and Skydance Media is ready to move forward with it.

THR is now reporting that Will Smith is in talks to star in the film. The story centers on "an aging assassin who tried to get out of the business but finds himself in the ultimate battle: fighting his own clone who is 25 years younger than him and at the peak of his abilities."

So it looks like we will get to see Smith battle a younger version of himself in the movie, which seems pretty cool. Just imagine the present day version of Smith fighting the younger Fresh Prince of Bel Air version. I'm sold! Who wouldn't pay to see that?

Lee has still yet to commit to the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced project, but I hope he does. Smith and Lee seem like they would make a great team! I think they are both great choices to take on the challenge of developing the film. I've also always liked Lee's directing style and I'd like to see that style in the telling of this story.
