X-MEN '97 Season 2 Promo Art Reveals Polaris, Wasteland Designs, and More

The mutant hype train is rolling again, and this time we’ve got our first real peek at what’s coming next. Newly released promo art for X-Men '97 Season 2 has surfaced online, giving fans an early look at the evolving roster, some costume changes, and the long-awaited arrival of Polaris.

The artwork, which comes from officially licensed merchandise by Grupo Erik, is already making the rounds after popping up on Amazon. And yeah, there’s a lot to unpack here if you’re an X-Men fan.

The poster showcases a stacked lineup of returning characters including Morph, Storm, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Cable, Sunspot, Rogue, Forge, Bishop, Beast, Jubilee, Magneto, Nightcrawler, Wolverine, and Professor X. But the standout addition here is Polaris, finally stepping into the spotlight with an official design reveal.

Alongside that, another piece of merch highlights several core team members suited up in gritty Wasteland costumes. Jean Grey, Cyclops, Storm, Wolverine, and Morph all get a more rugged, survivalist look.

Of course, Polaris showing up raises some casting questions. There was talk last year that Neve Campbell might be voicing the character after rumors tied her to the project. But when asked directly about it, she shut it down pretty quickly, syaing "No," before adding, "That is the rumor though... right?"

Maybe she’s telling the truth. Maybe she’s dodging spoilers. Either way, we’ll know soon enough.

Season 1 left the team in a wild place after their battle with Bastion and the near-catastrophic threat of Asteroid M. While they managed to save the planet, things didn’t exactly wrap up neatly. Instead, the team was scattered through time, with some crossing paths with a younger En Sabah Nur.

The setup points toward Apocalypse entering the picture in a big way, potentially assembling his Horsemen. And that could include a resurrected Gambit, which would be a huge deal.

Marvel Studios’ Brad Winderbaum confirmed that the next chapter isn’t too far off, saying: "Season 2 of X-Men ‘97 is going to be in ‘26. We're working on it now. It's exciting.

“That world of the ‘90s is just… Honestly, I can't believe they let me make it. I grew up at Marvel, as you know, clocked a lot of time here, and I feel like I used a lot of currency to revive this thing that I loved watching after school.

“So, the fact that we get to play in that universe with those actors is honestly why I went into this business in the first place."

The returning voice cast continues to be one of the show’s biggest strengths, featuring Ray Chase as Cyclops, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, Cal Dodd as Wolverine, JP Karliak as Morph, Lenore Zann as Rogue, George Buza as Beast, AJ LoCascio as Gambit, Holly Chou as Jubilee, Isaac Robinson-Smith as Bishop, Matthew Waterson as Magneto, and Adrian Hough as Nightcrawler.

If Season 2 leans into the time-jumping chaos and Apocalypse storyline the way it’s being teased, we could be in for something seriously cool.

The synopsis reads: "A band of mutants use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them; they're challenged like never before, forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future. New Episodes, New Era.”

Between Polaris entering the mix, the Wasteland vibes, and the looming threat of Apocalypse, X-Men '97 Season 2 is shaping up to go even bigger.
