YELLOWJACKETS Star Sophie Thatcher Joins Sci-Fi Thriller COMPANION with BARBARIAN Director Producing

Sophie Thatcher, who stars in Showtime’s Yellowjackets and the recently released horror film The Boogeyman, has joined the sci-fi thriller Companion. This movie is coming from the creative team behind the horror film hit Barbarian and it’s gearing up for production this summer.

Drew Hancock wrote the original script and is making his directorial debut with the feature, and the director of Barbarian, Zach Cregger, is producing the film. Thatcher joins the previously cast Jack Quaid, Lukas Gage, Megan Suri, and Harvey Guillén.

There are still no details on the story that the film will tell, but it’s being described “as self-contained, and Thatcher is set to play a character who is more than meets the eye.”

This project was originally going to act as BoulderLight and Cregger’s follow-up to Barbarian before the filmmaker switched things up to focus on his own script, Weapons, which is currently going through the casting process.

Thatcher is a talented young actress and it’ll be interesting to see what kind of character she ends up playing in this. Hell, it will be interesting to learn what the basic plot of the film will be!
