Zack Cregger’s Horror Film WEAPONS Unleashes New Clip and Lands 100% on Rotten Tomatoes
A chilling new clip from Zack Cregger’s upcoming horror thriller Weapons has dropped, and if this intense 90-second scene is any indication, audiences are in for something truly terrifying.
Critics are already raving. With just 12 early reviews, Weapons has scored a flawless 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. That’s a pretty strong start for a film that’s not even out yet.
The clip warns of spoilers, so if you don’t want to know anymore details stop reading now, and don’t watch the clip!
The footage shows Benedict Wong, absolutely unhinged with rage, charging at Julia Garner’s character Justine and trying to choke her out. His bulging, red face is unsettling enough, but things escalate fast when Josh Brolin’s character, Archer, tackles him through the glass of a gas station store. It’s short, but the scene is already living rent-free in my mind.
Weapons centers around a disturbing mystery where 17 children vanish in the middle of the night from a single elementary school class. Justine, their teacher, becomes the main suspect, but the father of one of the missing kids, Archer, isn’t convinced the cops are doing enough and decides to take matters into his own hands.
Cregger, known for his breakout horror hit Barbarian, wrote and directed Weapons, and he’s clearly not holding back this time either. The cast is stacked, featuring Alden Ehrenreich, Amy Madigan, Austin Abrams, Toby Huss, Whitmer Thomas, June Diane Raphael, and Cary Christopher.
Weapons will hit theaters on August 8. Horror fans, this one looks like it’s going to mess with your head in the best way possible.
