Zack Snyder Unleashes Badass New Shot of Ben Affleck’s Armored Batman
Zack Snyder has been on a steady streak of sharing behind the scenes snapshots from his DC days and his latest Instagram post brought back a fan favorite piece of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice history.
The filmmaker shared a new image of Ben Affleck’s heavy duty armored Batman suit, and the internet immediately erupted with a little wishful thinking about a return to the Snyderverse.
Snyder’s newest upload is a badass monochrome shot of the armored suit that Affleck wore during the big clash in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
The director captioned the image, “Leica monochrome hard suit test BvS,” continuing a string of artistic black and white images that have been lighting up his feed.
A few days prior, Snyder also shared a monochrome photo of Henry Cavill suited up as Superman, noting in the caption that it had been shot on his iPhone and thanking fans for helping him reach 400k followers on Instagram.
Since joining the platform only a couple of months ago, Snyder has been dropping a steady stream of behind the scenes material taken on his Leica Monochrom. Last month he posted another image of Affleck in a Batman suit and wrote, “In the portrait studio I built for Justice League, I captured this moment with Ben. No question—this man is Batman. Leica Monochrome, 50mm Dream Lens.”
Snyder’s recent posting spree has stirred up some major energy within the fandom. Many fans are thrilled to see these glimpses from his time in the DC universe and they’re using the opportunity to remind the director exactly what they want next.
Under the new armored suit photo, one fan wrote, “Ben Affleck’s Batman movie. The film would’ve taken place in Arkham Asylum, and Batman would face Deathstroke as well as ending up fighting against the Joker. WE NEED THIS.” Another added, “Just announce it now I’m tired of waiting, let’s go.”
These reactions show how eager people still are for more stories in Snyder’s version of the DC world. Every new snapshot sparks more excitement, and while there has been no official sign of a comeback, some fans are ready for one.
