Zack Snyder Wanted a Cyborg Solo Movie To Happen After JUSTICE LEAGUE

With Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Cyborg finally got an actual story arc. Fans got to see the character get a decent setup in the DCEU and it turns out that the director wanted Cyborg to get his own solo film after Justice League, saying it was "a no-brainer".

In the original film that Joss Whedon directed, Cyborg’s scenes were mostly reshot and his role in the story was reduced pretty drastically. That movie in no way sets up a solo Cyborg movie, but with the Snyder Cut, you can see how that story for Cyborg could continue. Snyder has made it clear before that Cyborg actor Ray Fisher is "the heart of [the] movie".

While talking to Esquire, Snyder said, "I'm really happy to have Ray's story put back,” and added:

"I'm very sad that I didn't push harder to set up the Cyborg movie before we shot Justice League because I'd done a lot of work to set up Wonder Woman and Aquaman and to get those movies on their feet. And I really wish I had done that with Cyborg because he's really on his feet at the end of the movie. He's really ready to go. And I just thought, well, the truth is I just assumed that it was a no brainer that a Cyborg movie would be in the works. You know what I mean? It seems like so obvious."

Well, Warner Bros. actually did have a Cyborg movie in the works at one point and they were moving toward it, but it was eventually scrapped. Cyborg was also supposed to show up in the upcoming Flash solo movie, but he’s reportedly been written out of it. As you know, there’s been a lot of drama and contention between Warner Bros. and Fisher, and I imagine the two will never work with each other again because of that.

Had things originally gone forward with Zack Snyder’s vision in the beginning, the DCEU would have looked a lot different than it does today.
