Zawe Ashton Set To Play The Villain in Marvel's CAPTAIN MARVEL 2
It looks like Marvel Studios has cast Velvet Buzzsaw actress Zawe Ashton as the villain in Captain Marvel 2. There are no details on who she’ll exactly be playing, but she will be the main villain of the film. All we can really do at this point is speculate on who that could be.
Nia DaCosta (Candyman) is set to direct the film from a script written by Megan McDonnell, who is a story editor on the Marvel-based series WandaVision.
Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani and Teyonah Parris also set to appear in the Captain Marvel sequel. Brie Larson is obviously also set to reprise her role. It’s been teased by Marvel on multiple occasions that Captain Marvel is the most powerful hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but she wasn’t the one to take down Thanos, so that still has yet to be proven.
There are no details to share but it’s been rumored that it will be heavily inspired by the Secret Invasion comic book storyline. This makes me wonder if the events of Captain Marvel 2 will tie into Marvel’s Secret Invasion Disney+ series. The movie is also said to “include many important MCU characters,” with the film being described as a "mini-Avengers film."
